A bit more body with balance would make this beer more enjoyable. We started with our Eight Point IPA, then added twice the amount of hops and kept going Light bronze in color with tons of citrus & piney hop notes. It’s a bit on the earthy side, but it all works well enough at giving the beer a woodsy, autumnal. The bitterness and carbonation play off each other to create an almost harsh taste at the beginning, before it diminishes very quickly after the sip. Devils Backbone 8 Point American IPA This American IPA (which includes malt and wheat) drinks like something between a British IPA and a lager, boldly bitter but backed up with a malty, rich body that really rounds things out on the palate. Named for the closest mile post on the Appalachian Trail, this beer is a hybrid of a strong golden lager and an IPA, with hop flavors that can be described as fruity, citrusy and resinous, but with the crispness of a lager.
